Here’s what happened:
US strikes on Iran: The United States conducted its eighth consecutive night of strikes on Iran. Its CENTCOM military command said they were partly to “punish” Iran for an attack on Friday on a base in Jordan which killed two US soldiers and left another missing in action.
Missile on Jordan intercepted: Israeli and Jordanian forces intercepted an Iranian missile aimed at the Jordanian city of Aqaba on Sunday, the Israeli military said. Jordan’s Armed Forces said they shot down three missiles.
Kuwait, Bahrain attacked: Kuwait said Iran hit a power and water plant on Sunday causing a fire, while Bahrain also accused Tehran of targeting civilian infrastructure. Iranian strikes also targeted two US bases in Kuwait.
Iranian nuclear plant attacked: Iran’s Atomic Energy Organisation said the United States attacked an under-construction nuclear power plant in Darkhovin, in the country’s southwest.
Aoun meets Rubio: US Secretary of State Marco Rubio met with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Washington on Sunday, praising the country for its “move towards peace” after the latest round of Lebanon-Israel talks.
