Davido Raises Alarm Over Alleged Plot to Stop Him From Entering Osun

Popular Nigerian musician, David Adeleke, better known as Davido, has raised concerns over an alleged attempt to prevent him from entering Osun State ahead of the governorship election.

Davido disclosed the development on social media, claiming he had received information from reliable sources that soldiers were planning to stop him from gaining access to the state.

Expressing his displeasure, the singer insisted that he would not accept any attempt to restrict his movement, stressing that every Nigerian has the constitutional right to move freely across the country.

“I’ve been reliably informed that soldiers are trying to prevent me from entering Osun tomorrow; this won’t happen. Every citizen of Nigeria has the right to movement at any point in time,” he stated.

However, the reported restriction may be connected to the security measures announced for the election. The Nigeria Police Force had earlier ordered restrictions on vehicular and human movement across Osun State from midnight until 6:00 p.m. on election day.

According to the police, the measure is aimed at maintaining law and order and protecting lives and property during the governorship poll.

It remains unclear whether the reported attempt to stop Davido was specifically targeted at him or was part of the general movement restrictions imposed for the election.
