Osun 2026: Lawmaker tells supporters to kill Accord members + Video

The representative of Osun East Senatorial District, Senator Francis Fadahunsi, has told his supporters to keep killing members of the opposition party, Accord, ahead of the August 15, 2026 governorship election in Osun State.
The lawmaker, who joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said this in a viral video.
Fadahunsi’s position came after three men said to be members of the APC were killed in Ilesa, his area of birth.
However, the Osun State Police Command had said the death was a result of a cult clash and was not politically related.
Afrobeat singer, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, shared the video.
Davido, whose uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, is seeking reelection on the platform of Accord, translated the instruction by Fadahunsi to his supporters in Yoruba: “From now on, whenever you see Accord members, kill them.
“I authorise you to kill them.
“They have wives and children too.
“This is a Federal Government election.
“On election day, even if they come with voter cards, we won’t allow them to vote.
“What kind of life is that?
“If we hear anything about Accord in Ilesa here, record me and go and tell them.
“When we tell them, the cap they are putting on is a bad one, yellow one.
“So, we have come to tell you now, from now till the election day, if we see them, kill them o.”
Fadahunsi, the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Industries, however, described the video as misleading.
In a statement, he said the video was deliberately doctored on social media to create confusion.
He said: “What I said was that if the alleged killing of our party members by Accord Party thugs does not stop, our party will retaliate.
“I was referring to the continued violence and attacks against our members in Ilesa and other parts of the state.
“I made reference to one Rogba, who was killed in Esa-Oke by his co-cultists.
“The governor had referred to the deceased as his son and was also engaged in a disagreement with a sitting member of the House of Representatives on live television.
“My statement was very clear: if the killings do not stop, we shall also retaliate.
“We are here to lodge complaints and demand justice.
“It is unacceptable for human beings to kill fellow human beings the way our members are allegedly being killed in Ilesa.
“All those being killed are Nigerians and, indeed, sons and daughters of the same communities.
“I stated unequivocally that if our party members are killed again, we will not simply fold our arms and watch.
“We will defend our people, even if such an incident occurs on election day.
“Unfortunately, Davido and Olajengbesi took less than two minutes from a speech that lasted about 24 minutes and circulated it to achieve cheap political objectives.
“This is a clear case of deliberate misrepresentation and manipulation.
“It will be recalled that last night, three vibrant young men were reportedly killed at Kajola Junction, Imo, Ilesa.
“Shockingly, while we were preparing for our rally in Ilesa this morning, reports also emerged that more than eight young people were allegedly murdered in cold blood in the Igbogi area of Ilesa.
