Party agents and supporters at the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Results Collation Centre in Osogbo are eagerly awaiting the final announcement of the results of Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
Although the atmosphere at the collation centre remained calm, there is a palpable tension among the party agents and supporters allowed into the centre for the final announcement of the result.
Some party supporters were also seen outside the collation centre, albeit at a distance, waiting for the announcement.
As of the time of filing this report, results from all 30 local government areas (LGAs) had been counted, with the final announcement of the results being awaited.
Governor Ademola Adeleke of Accord won 19 of the 30 LGAs, while Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress (APC), won 11 LGAs.
Adeleke is awaiting the official declaration by INEC following the conclusion of the collation and announcement of results on Sunday.
