Osun 2026: Senator Fadahunsi Arrives Police Headquarters Over Alleged Viral Threat + Video
Senator representing Osun East in the National Assembly, Francis Fadahunsi, has arrived at the Osun State Police Command headquarters in Osogbo following an invitation over a viral campaign video in which he was allegedly heard telling his supporters to “kill” members of the opposition Accord Party ahead of the Saturday’s governorship election in Osun State.
Fadahunsi arrived at the police headquarters at about 2:35 pm on Wednesday, accompanied by the Commissioner of Police in charge of Election and Security, Samuel Erale.
The invitation followed the emergence of a campaign video recorded during an All Progressives Congress rally in Ilesa.
In the video, Fadahunsi was allegedly heard speaking in Yoruba in remarks interpreted as an instruction to supporters to “kill” members of the rival Accord Party.
The remarks have attracted the attention of the police ahead of the Osun State governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.
The Osun State Police Command had on Tuesday invited the senator to report to the State Criminal Investigation Department for questioning over the video.
The police reportedly described the remarks as threatening, inciting and intimidating, particularly in the build-up to the governorship election.
Fadahunsi subsequently honoured the invitation and arrived at the command headquarters in Osogbo on Wednesday afternoon.
His questioning is expected to centre on the circumstances surrounding the viral video and the remarks attributed to him.
The senator’s arrival came as political activities intensify ahead of Saturday’s election, with security agencies stepping up measures aimed at ensuring a peaceful electoral process.
