Tinubu Receives Outgoing, Incoming Heads of Service at State House

President Bola Tinubu on Friday received the outgoing Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Didi Esther Walson Jack, and her successor, Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting came shortly after Tinubu appointed Enitan as the next Head of the Civil Service of the Federation. His appointment takes effect on August 27, 2026.
The appointment was announced in a statement issued on August 19 by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy.
Enitan is expected to succeed Walson Jack, who will leave office after attaining the mandatory retirement age of 60.
A native of Osun State, Enitan currently serves as Permanent Secretary in the Federal Ministry of Education. He is also the longest-serving Permanent Secretary in the Federal Civil Service, having held the position for seven years and seven months.
Over the course of his career, Enitan has served in several key government institutions, including the Ministry of Police Affairs, Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and the Office of the Vice President.
His extensive experience across various arms of the Federal Government is expected to support his new responsibilities as Head of the Civil Service.
The meeting provided an opportunity for the President to receive both the outgoing and incoming heads of the Federal Civil Service ahead of the leadership transition.
