Emmanuel Kanu, younger brother of Nnamdi Kanu, has described the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as an “unbreakable lion” in a birthday message.
Emmanuel, in the message sent to journalists on Friday, said Kanu remained “undefeated” despite his imprisonment and ongoing legal battle.
“Happy Birthday to an Unbreakable Lion, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” he wrote.
“They jailed you with a dead law, yet you are still undefeated, still forcing the government to face Appeal.”
He also likened his brother to a seed, saying his imprisonment had not ended his struggle.
“They thought they buried you, they didn’t know you are a seed,” Emmanuel said.
The message was shared to mark Kanu’s 59th birthday.
Emmanuel’s comments come amid Kanu’s ongoing legal proceedings following his conviction and sentencing on terrorism-related charges.
