Obasanjo To Chair Launch Of Wahab Shittu’s ‘Unexplained Wealth’ Trilogy

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo will chair the public presentation of a three-volume book on unexplained wealth in Nigeria, authored by Senior Advocate of Nigeria and anti-corruption prosecutor, Dr Wahab Kunle Shittu.
The book will be presented on Monday, 28 September 2026, at the Oriental Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos, from 10:00am.
In a letter dated 26 August 2026, Obasanjo confirmed his acceptance to chair the launch, describing the trilogy as “a monumental and highly relevant scholarly work” examining unexplained wealth and its implications for transparency, the rule of law and institutional reform.
Shittu has served as private counsel to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) since the commission’s establishment and as a private prosecutor to the Federal Government since 2017.
He is a senior lecturer in the Department of Jurisprudence and International Law at the University of Lagos and holds a PhD in Law from the University of Ilorin.

He was also lead prosecutor in the N5bn fraud case against former Gombe State governor, Senator Danjuma Goje. He was conferred with the rank of SAN in 2022.
The trilogy’s third volume, displayed at the event, is titled Explained Wealth in the Age of Suspicion: Legal Accountability in Theory and Practice.
Former Vice-President Prof Yemi Osinbajo, GCON, SAN, is billed to deliver reflective remarks, while Prof Olanrewaju Fagbohun, SAN, former Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University, will review the book.
The Olofa of Offa, Oba Mufutau Gbadamosi Esuwoye II, will serve as Royal Father of the Day. Channels Television anchors Seun Okinbaloye and Shola Soleye will host the occasion.
The presentation is expected to bring together legal practitioners, anti-corruption officials, academics, policymakers and traditional leaders to discuss strengthening Nigeria’s asset recovery and accountability mechanisms while safeguarding constitutional rights.
