President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Founder and Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide, Bishop David Olaniyi Oyedepo, on the occasion of his 72nd birthday.
The President said he joined Bishop Oyedepo’s family, members of Living Faith Church Worldwide, the Christian community and millions of his admirers in celebrating a life dedicated to faith, service, leadership and human development.
In a statement issued by the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu acknowledged Oyedepo’s contributions to the moral and spiritual development of individuals and communities in Nigeria and beyond.
The President particularly praised the cleric’s consistent emphasis on integrity, discipline, hard work, responsibility and excellence.
According to Tinubu, Oyedepo’s advocacy for values that strengthen families, institutions and society, as well as his messages of hope, purpose and personal responsibility, have continued to influence many people across Nigeria and other parts of the world.
Tinubu also highlighted Oyedepo’s contributions to education and human-capital development through institutions established by his ministry, including Covenant University and Landmark University.
He said the institutions have provided opportunities for academic excellence, leadership development, entrepreneurship and innovation.
“Bishop Oyedepo’s influence extends beyond the pulpit into education, publishing, leadership development and humanitarian service, with the Living Faith Church maintaining a significant international presence across Africa and other parts of the world,” Tinubu said.
The President noted that after more than four decades of ministry, Oyedepo had become a prominent Nigerian voice on faith, leadership, integrity, education and human development.
He added that the bishop’s books and teachings had reached audiences in Nigeria, across Africa and in other parts of the world.
Tinubu said Oyedepo had spent decades preaching faith, promoting integrity and encouraging excellence while investing significantly in education and human-capital development.
He also commended the cleric for his role in building institutions and supporting communities through various initiatives associated with his ministry.
“I especially salute Bishop Oyedepo for the social-development initiatives, including schools, healthcare facilities, and humanitarian interventions, associated with his ministry and the David Oyedepo Foundation’s support for education and people in need,” the President said.
Tinubu prayed for continued wisdom, strength, good health and renewed grace for the bishop as he continues his work in the areas of faith, education, morality and human development.
“On this auspicious occasion of his 72nd birthday, I celebrate his life of service and pray that Almighty God will continue to grant him wisdom, strength, good health and renewed grace as he advances the cause of faith, education, morality and human development.
“I wish Bishop Oyedepo many more years of fulfilment, good health and continued service to God and humanity,” Tinubu added.
