The Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, has sworn in 68 lawyers as Senior Advocates of Nigeria (SANs) at the 2026/2027 Legal Year ceremony.
The swearing-in ceremony marks the elevation of the lawyers to one of the highest professional ranks in Nigeria’s legal profession.
The Nigerian Television Authority disclosed the development in a news flash accompanied by a video and photographs shared on its official X handle on Monday.
The ceremony was held as part of activities marking the commencement of the new legal year.
The Senior Advocate of Nigeria rank is conferred on legal practitioners in recognition of exceptional professional competence, contributions to the development of the legal profession and adherence to the highest standards of legal practice.
