The family of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings, has confirmed his death.

The announcement was made in a statement shared on the singer’s TikTok account on Wednesday, October 14, 2026. According to the family, he died in the early hours of the day.

The statement read, “With deep sorrow, the family announces the passing of Minister Olayemi Bayonile Bolaji, Toluwani Gospel Music Ministry (TOGOMM), who passed away in the early hours of 14 October 2026.

“A dearly loved husband, family member, and gospel minister.

“Please keep his wife, family, and loved ones in your prayers during this difficult time.”

The family added that details of the funeral arrangements would be announced in due course.

Toluwanisings’ death has triggered an outpouring of grief on social media, with fans and fellow gospel artistes mourning the singer.

Pelumi Olajengbesi, convener of the Coalition of Public Interest Lawyers and Advocates (COPA), also expressed sadness over the development, calling for God’s mercy.

Sharing a photograph of the late singer on Instagram, Olajengbesi wrote, “My God! What a life! No, Lord! We plead for Your mercy upon Toluwanisings.

“I am deeply troubled by the deaths of young men and women. This is not God’s plan for us.

“We say no to untimely death.”

Meanwhile, an X user identified as Ennybets shared an account of the incident, stating that he was at a hospital when the singer was brought in.

He wrote, “Brought my wife to the hospital for antenatal, and some car rushed in here bringing a popular gospel man.

“Come and see how BBO and the rest are crying so bad, I pray he survives this though.”

In a subsequent post, Ennybets expressed grief over the singer’s death, recounting the emotional reaction of members of his band at the hospital.

He wrote, “I cried about this man’s passing. The fact that I was seeing over 10 grown men who are his band members, crying heavily in front of me is giving me trauma.”

Toluwanisings, also known as Toluwani, was a gospel singer and songwriter from Osun State. He was known for his worship songs and live performances, including Kos’Oluwa Laye.

In July 2026, the singer and members of his team reportedly survived a road accident involving a heavy-duty trailer while returning from a ministration. He later shared the incident as a testimony of divine protection.

As of the time of filing this report, the cause of his death had not been disclosed.
