Galadima: Tinubu, His Allies Are Ungrateful To El-Rufai

A chieftain of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Buba Galadima, has accused President Bola Tinubu and his associates of being ungrateful to former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Galadima also disclosed that he had previously warned El-Rufai to be cautious about his actions, saying the former governor could face prosecution and imprisonment.

Speaking on the Naija Unfiltered Podcast, the NDC chieftain said his advice to El-Rufai was not motivated by personal friendship or hostility.

Galadima said he had advised the former governor to consider staying outside Nigeria because of what he described as possible legal consequences.

According to him, he also approached NDC presidential running mate Rabiu Kwankwaso and asked him to persuade El-Rufai not to return to Nigeria from Egypt after the former governor was allegedly indicted.

Galadima explained that he was concerned about El-Rufai’s safety and legal situation, despite not being his close friend.

He said, “Tinubu and his people are ingrates as far as El-Rufai is concerned. I’m not the best friend of El-Rufai.”

He added that he had warned El-Rufai to be careful about his conduct, stressing that he could either leave the country or risk being jailed.

Galadima further said he met Kwankwaso and urged him to convince El-Rufai not to return to Nigeria, claiming that those around the former governor did not have his best interests at heart.

The comments come amid continuing political developments surrounding El-Rufai and his relationship with political actors in the country.
