PSAC Launches Leadership School, Opens Applications For 20 Participants

Ayomide Awe

The Peace and Social Advancement Centre (PSAC) has launched an Executive School for Peace, Leadership and Governance, with applications opened for 20 participants for its inaugural three-day online programme scheduled for October 21 to 23, 2026.

The initiative, according to the organisation, is designed to address persistent challenges in ethical leadership, institutional accountability and effective governance by equipping emerging and established leaders with the knowledge and practical skills needed to promote peace and sustainable development.

Based in Abeokuta, Ogun State, PSAC said the programme would bring together public officials, policymakers, civil society actors and other individuals whose leadership responsibilities intersect with governance, peacebuilding and development.

The organisation said the initiative was driven by the conviction that sustainable peace and meaningful development required more than government policies and institutional structures, stressing the need for leaders capable of exercising authority responsibly and making decisions that improve people’s welfare.

According to PSAC, the Executive School will provide a platform for leadership development, executive learning and policy engagement, with emphasis on ethical decision-making, institutional effectiveness and constructive management of competing interests.

The centre said participants would be encouraged to develop a stronger understanding of the relationship between peace, leadership and governance while acquiring practical insights into building responsible institutions and promoting sustainable human development.

Applications for the inaugural cohort are currently open, with only 20 participants expected to be admitted into the online programme.

PSAC said the programme was intended for both emerging and established leaders interested in strengthening their capacity to contribute to effective governance, peaceful communities and institutional development.

However, the organisation said further details about eligibility criteria and the application process would be provided through its official application announcement and portal.

It urged qualified and committed individuals to take advantage of the opportunity to improve their leadership capacity and contribute to building a more peaceful, just and prosperous society.

The centre described the launch as part of its broader commitment to advancing peace and development through leadership formation, institutional strengthening, policy engagement and practical training.

PSAC, a Nigerian think tank and civil society organisation established in 2019, works across peace, governance and development through research, dialogue, advocacy, policy engagement and training.

The organisation is committed to generating policy ideas, strengthening institutions, promoting responsible governance and advancing sustainable human development.
