Tinubu to Inaugurate APC Presidential Campaign Council October 14

President Bola Tinubu is expected to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, 2026, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.

The inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja, ahead of the party’s first campaign rally scheduled to hold in Kaduna State on October 24.

Former Zamfara State Governor and Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Abdulaziz Yari, disclosed the development following a meeting with Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Friday.

Yari made the announcement while briefing State House correspondents, explaining that the President had approved the proposed campaign timetable.

According to him, the approval followed discussions on the party’s preparations and activities ahead of the forthcoming presidential election.

“The President has approved the proposed campaign timetable,” Yari said.

The October 14 inauguration is expected to formally commence the activities of the campaign council, bringing together APC leaders, governors, political stakeholders and other party members to coordinate the party’s nationwide mobilisation efforts.

Among those expected to play prominent roles in the campaign are Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Dr Betta Edu and other senior APC officials.

Following the opening rally in Kaduna on October 24, the party plans to move its campaign activities to other parts of the country, including Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, Borno State.

The planned rallies are expected to provide opportunities for the party to engage voters, promote its candidates and strengthen its support base ahead of the 2027 elections.

Meanwhile, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu has commenced efforts to mobilise women at the grassroots level in support of the APC presidential ticket.

The First Lady is working with Betta Edu, who serves as the campaign council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, alongside other members of the directorate.

The initiative is aimed at expanding the party’s reach among women through community engagement, grassroots outreach and other mobilisation activities across the country.

The APC is expected to rely on its national and state structures, as well as its network of political leaders and supporters, to coordinate its campaign ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The inauguration of the campaign council will mark a significant step in the ruling party’s preparations to secure another term for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket.
