Tompolo Declares ‘No Vacancy’ In Aso Rock, Unveils More Vehicles In Yobe

The campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election received a fresh boost in Yobe State on Friday as High Chief Government Ekpemupolo, popularly known as Tompolo, unveiled additional vehicles for grassroots mobilisations ahead of 2027.

Tompolo, who is the grand patron of the PBAT door-to-door movement, declared that “there is no vacancy” in the Aso Rock Villa.

According to him, President Tinubu’s economic reforms are yielding results and require more time to be consolidated.

He spoke in Damaturu during the unveiling and launch of campaign vehicles donated to the state chapter of the APC for grassroots mobilisation.

Tompolo, who was represented at the event by the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services, Kester Pondi, said Tinubu’s policies had increased funds available to state governments for development projects.

“President Bola Tinubu’s policies have been wonderful. They have helped our governors to have more money for projects. They have put more money in the states than ever before.

“Today, your state governors have money to execute projects, your governors don’t owe salaries and pensions and that is because of the economic reforms of President Bola Tinubu which are yielding results.”

He said the reforms had brought challenges but argued that their benefits would become clearer with time.

He likened the reforms to road rehabilitation, saying the process could be difficult but, “everyone enjoys the usage of the road.”

Tompolo said the effects of the reforms were already being seen in areas including local government autonomy and increased revenue to states.

“We are telling you that if you want these reforms which have made local government autonomy and steady salary payment possible to be consolidated, you must vote president Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027. Reelect the president for continuous reforms that will stand the test of time,” Tompolo added.

The National Coordinator of the movement, Sunday Asuku, also called on residents to support the APC and reject opposition parties ahead of the election.

“The landgrabbers are out to deceive Nigerians again but we have come to tell you that collectively, we should tell them a resounding no. There is no vacancy in Aso Rock Villa, Aso Rock is for President Tinubu,” he stated.

Asuku said increased allocations to states from the federation account had contributed to the provision of infrastructure across the country.

“He (Tinubu) has done a lot and we must give him more time to do more so that we can continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy.

“Mobilise from door-to-door, street-to-street, area-to-area, farm-to-farm, settlement-to-settlement and vote APC from top to bottom,” he added.

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, represented by his deputy, Alhaji Idi Barde Gubana, commended the movement for its mobilisation efforts.

Buni, who is also the deputy director general of the APC Campaign Council, said the APC did not need to mount an extensive campaign in Yobe because of the level of support for Tinubu in the state.

He assured the movement of victory for Tinubu and said the state had restructured its campaign machinery from the state to ward level ahead of the election.

The event ended with the distribution of campaign vehicles and other materials to support the movement’s door-to-door mobilisation across the state.
