Amid mounting speculation and public debate over Vice President Kashim Shettima’s political future, the Presidency on Thursday clarified that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has not yet decided on a running mate for the 2027 presidential election.
This was made known by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, during an interview with Daily Trust.
Responding to questions about the Vice President’s notable absence from recent endorsement campaigns for Tinubu’s second-term bid, Onanuga stated that the choice of a running mate is premature at this stage.
