The Senate, on Thursday, confirmed the appointment of former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Chibudom Nwuche, as the Chairman of the South-South Development Commission (SSDC).
Papers News reports that the upper legislative chamber also confirmed Usoro Offiong Akpabio, an indigene of Akwa Ibom State, as the Managing Director of the Commission.
However, Tijani Yahaya Kaura, nominated to represent the North-West zone, was not confirmed by the Senate after failing to submit necessary credentials and refusing to appear before the Senate screening panel.
