Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State says he is willing to make any sacrifice necessary to ensure peace and stability in the state, stressing that the recent reconciliation with his political adversaries was made in the collective interest of Rivers people.
Fubara made the declaration during a meeting with supporters in Port Harcourt, as contained in a statement on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Nelson Chukwu.
The governor explained that the peace accord brokered between him, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, and members of the Rivers State House of Assembly came after extensive consultations and was guided by the need to restore calm and governance in the state.
He acknowledged the political contributions of Wike to his emergence as governor and stated that his willingness to reconcile stemmed from a genuine desire to move Rivers State forward.
