The operation, which took place at approximately 5:30 p.m. on June 30, 2025, followed contact with the insurgents during a routine joint fighting patrol in the volatile region.
According to a statement shared on the Nigerian Army’s Facebook page on Tuesday, the troops engaged the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, overwhelming them with superior firepower and tactical coordination.
The assault resulted in the elimination of eight terrorists, while several others fled the scene, leaving behind a cache of weapons and ammunition.
