The detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, has petitioned the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), calling for disciplinary action against three senior judges over alleged gross judicial misconduct in his ongoing trial.
Kanu, in a petition that he personally signed, accused Justices Binta Nyako, Haruna Tsammani, and Garba Lawal of committing a miscarriage of justice. The petition was made available to journalists on Sunday through one of his lawyers, Umesi.
Papers News reports that Kanu, who has been in custody at the Department of State Services (DSS) headquarters in Abuja since his extraordinary rendition from Kenya in June 2021, outlined what he described as “a catalogue of infractions” committed by the judges in handling his case.
