Nigeria’s Foreign Investment Soars to $21bn in 10 Months

Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr. Jumoke Oduwole, disclosed this figure while defending the ministry’s 2026 budget proposal before the Joint House of Representatives Committee on Commerce in Abuja. She credited the surge to restored investor confidence following targeted government reforms.

The ministry developed over $5 billion worth of investment-ready projects, created sector-focused deal rooms, and organized Nigeria’s inaugural Domestic Investors’ Summit, Oduwole explained. These initiatives helped open financing channels and cleared approximately 50 persistent obstacles facing investors.

She added that the ministry conducted over 100 bilateral investment discussions across key markets, including the United Arab Emirates, Brazil, Japan, the United States, and the United Kingdom.
