The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially confirmed Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as the party’s consensus candidate for the 2027 Ogun State governorship election following a high-level caucus meeting.
The decision was reached after extensive consultations among key party stakeholders, leaders, and influential figures within the APC in Ogun State. The caucus meeting, which was attended by top-ranking members of the party, was convened to deliberate on the party’s strategy ahead of the upcoming governorship race and to ensure unity within its ranks.
Announcing the outcome, party officials disclosed that Senator Adeola emerged as the preferred candidate after a broad agreement among leaders, who emphasized the need to present a formidable and widely accepted aspirant capable of securing victory for the APC.
The endorsement is seen as a significant step toward consolidating the party’s structure in Ogun State, as it effectively narrows the field of aspirants and sets the stage for a more coordinated campaign.
