Dangote, Trump, Xi, Others Make TIME 100 Most Influential List for 2026

Nigerian business magnate Aliko Dangote has been named among the world’s most influential figures in the 2026 TIME100 list, reinforcing his reputation as one of the leading business figures globally.
The prestigious list, released on April 15, 2026, by Time Magazine, highlights individuals whose ideas, leadership, and impact are shaping the future across politics, business, culture, and society.
Dangote joins a diverse group of global leaders, including U.S. President Donald Trump, Chinese President Xi Jinping, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney, and Pope Leo XIV. Also featured are top tech executives such as Sundar Pichai and Neal Mohan.
This marks Dangote’s second appearance on the TIME100 list, following his first recognition in 2014, underscoring his sustained influence in business and philanthropy. He is the only Nigerian on the 2026 list and is recognised in the “Titans” category alongside notable figures like Reid Wiseman.
Other personalities in the same category include tech philanthropists Michael Dell and Susan Dell, as well as fashion icon Ralph Lauren.
In the “Pioneers” category, individuals such as Kiran Musunuru and Rebecca Ahrens-Nicklas were recognised for breakthroughs in genetic medicine, alongside Aaron Williams for advancements in heart transplant readiness.
The list also celebrates figures in entertainment and culture, including Ranbir Kapoor, Dakota Johnson, and Kate Hudson.
As founder of the Dangote Group, Africa’s largest industrial conglomerate, Dangote has played a key role in driving industrialisation across the continent through investments in cement, agriculture, food processing, and energy. His recent push into large-scale infrastructure and energy projects has further strengthened his global influence.
Beyond business, his philanthropic efforts through the Aliko Dangote Foundation continue to support healthcare, education, nutrition, and economic empowerment initiatives across Africa.
The 2026 TIME100 recognition highlights the growing global impact of African leadership, with Dangote standing out as a symbol of innovation, enterprise, and long-term economic transformation on the continent.
