Former Governor of Ekiti State, Ayodele Fayose, on Tuesday visited the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, at his residence.
Papers News understands that Fayose arrived at the residence of the traditional ruler around 4:50 pm.
The visit comes amidst allegations that the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, is progressing with plans to remove Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the Olubadan of Ibadan.
There have also been allegations that the Olubadan is sponsoring attempts to impeach Governor Makinde, though the traditional ruler has dissociated himself from such plans.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Fayose accused Governor Makinde of displaying a lordship style of leadership and warned that power is transient.
“Everything in life is a matter of time. You might have your time today and another person would have his time tomorrow. All I am saying is that Governor Makinde should tread softly. You don’t have to be a Governor and be a lord. You are a Governor to serve the people,” the former Governor of Ekiti State said.
He also insisted that Governor Makinde is nursing an agenda to remove Ladoja as the Olubadan of Ibadan.
“Let me say it again, Makinde, the current governor of Oyo State has an agenda to remove the Olubadan of Ibadan land, whether it will stay, whether it will happen or not is another story,” Fayose said.
Recall that earlier on Tuesday, Fayose insisted that Governor Makinde is progressing with plans to remove Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja as the Olubadan of Ibadan.
It would be recalled that Fayose had earlier alleged that Governor Makinde is planning to remove Ladoja.
Fayose made the claim in a post on 𝕏 on Sunday, stating that the alleged move would begin with official queries issued against the monarch.
According to Fayose, the purported plan would start with a government query accusing the traditional ruler of failing to attend a recent coronation ceremony in Ibadan.
Again on Tuesday, Fayose alleged that there is an ongoing rift between the Oyo State Governor and Oba Ladoja.
The former Governor added that the Olubadan is being accused of plotting to impeach Makinde, adding that the government would soon release statements accusing the Olubadan of being partisan.
