The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has announced the resumption of the third and final phase of the nationwide Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) for Monday, May 11, 2026.
This final registration window is scheduled to run for two months, concluding on Friday, July 10, 2026.
The Commission disclosed this in a press statement issued on Tuesday, 6th May, 2026, by the Chairman of the Information and Voter Education Committee (IVEC), Mohammed Kudu Haruna.
The IVEC Chairman recalled that the second phase of the exercise was suspended on April 17, 2026, following the publication of the register for claims and objections, a process aimed at cleaning up the voters’ register.
According to him, the resumption of the exercise provides another opportunity for eligible Nigerians, particularly those who have recently turned 18 or were unable to register during earlier phases, to enroll.
The Commission also urged registered voters seeking to transfer their registration, replace lost or damaged Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), or correct their bio-data to take advantage of the exercise.
Such services, it noted, can be accessed through its dedicated online portal or at INEC state and local government area offices nationwide.
He further announced that the display of the Register of Voters for claims and objections will hold from July 23 to July 29, 2026.
It described the exercise as a critical step in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and credibility of the voters’ register.
“The Commission reassures Nigerians that all necessary arrangements have been concluded for the smooth conduct of the exercise,” the statement read.
The IVEC Chairman appealed to all eligible citizens to participate actively in the registration process, emphasizing that broad-based participation remains essential to strengthening Nigeria’s electoral process.
