30-Year-Old APC Aspirant Declares Bid for Kaduna Reps Seat

A 30-year-old grassroots politician, Mahmud Sadis Buba, has declared his intention to contest for the House of Representatives seat for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Buba, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), confirmed his ambition after picking up his Expression of Interest and nomination forms. He announced the development via his verified Facebook page, saying his decision was driven by a desire to deliver inclusive and people-centred representation.

He said: “Today, I humbly announce that I have obtained my nomination form to contest for the House of Representatives, Sabon Gari Federal Constituency. From my beginnings as a driver to this moment, my journey has been built on hard work, resilience, and the belief that every individual, no matter their background, can rise to serve.”

Born on August 2, 1995, in Sabon Gari, Zaria, Kaduna State, Buba previously worked as a driver before fully venturing into politics. He says his background shapes his focus on grassroots inclusion and equal opportunity.

He currently leads the “Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27” support group and has become increasingly active within APC political networks in Kaduna State.

Over time, he has been seen in political engagements alongside prominent figures such as President Bola Tinubu, Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio. Others include former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai, Bello El-Rufai, and Seyi Tinubu.

As part of his consultations, Buba has reportedly presented his nomination forms to Akpabio, Vice President Kashim Shettima, and other APC stakeholders. Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma and APC National leaders were also among those he has engaged.

In his campaign message, he promised honest and people-focused representation if elected.

“I am stepping forward with a clear vision: to represent the people of Sabon Gari with honesty, dedication, and true leadership. Your voice will be heard, your concerns will matter, and together we will work towards real development and opportunities for all,” he said.

His ambition has drawn attention from political observers, including former Kaduna Central senator Shehu Sani, who described his move as inspiring for young Nigerians.

If elected in 2027, Buba would become one of the youngest lawmakers in the National Assembly, with supporters also noting that he could set a record in terms of physical representation in the chamber.
