The Commander of Training and Doctrine Command Nigerian Army (TRADOC), Peter Malla, has directed members of the panel for the 2026 Captain-to-Major Written Promotion Examination to maintain strict professionalism, fairness and transparency during the exercise.
Malla gave the charge at the Nigerian Army School of Supply and Transport, Benin City, where he also serves as Examination President.
The directive was disclosed in a statement posted on the Nigerian Army’s X handle on Wednesday by Acting Deputy Director Army Public Relations TRADOC, Felicia Daniel.
According to the statement the commander stressed that the credibility of the examination process must be protected.
Malla said: “The integrity of this examination process must not be compromised. You are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and fairness in the discharge of your duties.”
He described the examination as a key process for selecting officers capable of handling greater responsibilities within the Nigerian Army.
Malla said: “Candidates must be rigorously assessed based on their leadership qualities, critical thinking abilities, and capacity to address contemporary security challenges.”
According to him, the exercise aligns with the command philosophy of the Chief of Army Staff aimed at building a more professional and combat-ready force.
He said: “This examination is key to shaping the future leadership of the Nigerian Army. It is therefore imperative that the process remains credible and in line with established guidelines.”
The TRADOC commander also instructed panel members to comply fully with the Nigerian Army Charter for Promotion Examinations 2022 (Revised).
He said: “I have full confidence in your ability to deliver a credible and fair examination. Let your actions reflect the core values of the Nigerian Army.”
Earlier, the Commandant of the institution, Adebayo Adegbite, described hosting the examination as an honour and assured the panel of the school’s support.
