Eterna Plc has appointed Dr. Jude Nwaulune as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer following the resignation of Mr. Olumide Adeosun from the position.
The company disclosed in a statement filed with Nigerian Exchange Limited that the appointment took effect on May 14, 2026, while Adeosun’s resignation became effective on May 13, 2026.
Eterna’s Board of Directors thanked Adeosun for his leadership and contributions during his tenure and wished him success in his future endeavours.
The appointment comes at a critical period for the downstream oil and gas sector as operators navigate rising operational costs, evolving energy distribution models and increasing competition within Nigeria’s petroleum retail and logistics market.
Dr. Nwaulune joins Eterna Plc with over 19 years of experience across sales, marketing, logistics, operations management and business development within the downstream energy industry.
Before his appointment, he served as Managing Director of Rainoil Logistics Services Limited where he played a role in logistics operations and petroleum distribution management.
According to the company, Dr. Nwaulune has spent the last 12 years leading strategic growth initiatives and operational transformation projects across various segments of the energy industry, including petroleum retail expansion, LPG market development and nationwide supply chain management.
Industry analysts said his background in logistics, retail expansion and strategic marketing could position Eterna to strengthen operational efficiency and improve market penetration amid changing consumer demand and energy transition pressures.
Academically, Dr. Nwaulune holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University alongside postgraduate qualifications in journalism, marketing communications and strategic marketing management.
He earned both his MSc and PhD from Babcock University.
He is also affiliated with several professional institutions including the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria and the Nigerian Institute of Marketing of Nigeria.
Beyond the corporate sector, the new Eterna CEO is recognised for academic contributions and professional development engagements across Africa and Europe, with several published journal articles and books to his credit.
Investors are expected to monitor the company’s strategic direction under the new leadership as Eterna continues efforts to strengthen its position within Nigeria’s competitive downstream energy market.
