‘I Won’t Waste Energy Discussing You’ – Aisha Yesufu Slams Tinubu’s Aide, Bwala

Human rights activist turned politician, Aisha Yesufu, has lashed out at the Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, saying no “right-thinking Nigerian” would waste time engaging him in political debates.

Papers News reports that Yesufu made the remarks on Thursday while appearing on Politics Today, a current affairs programme on Channels Television.

Her reaction followed recent comments credited to Bwala concerning former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

Bwala had reportedly questioned Obi’s political strength, arguing that the former Anambra State governor had failed to remain in a political party long enough to participate in primaries and test his popularity within the system.

Responding during the interview, Yesufu dismissed Bwala’s remarks and made it clear she had no intention of engaging him directly.

“First of all, there’s no right-thinking Nigerian that is going to waste their energy on discussing Daniel Bwala,” she said.

The activist added that she had heard Bwala mention her name previously but chose not to focus on him.

“I’m really not going to focus on that. I heard when he was calling my name. I think I will leave him to Mehdi Hasan. That’s someone that knows how to deal with people like Daniel,” she stated.

Shifting attention away from the exchange, Yesufu stressed that Nigerians were more concerned about governance, accountability and improving living conditions across the country.

According to her, the real issue should be how leaders can deliver transparent governance and make citizens’ welfare a priority.

“One of the things I would say is that in the case of Nigeria, definitely what we want is good governance, accountability and transparency and a place where the lives of Nigerians would matter,” she added.
