CAP Plc Appoints Jethro Iruobe as Executive Director, Names New Company Secretary
Chemical and Allied Products Plc (CAP Plc), a subsidiary of UAC of Nigeria Plc, has announced key leadership changes, including the appointment of Jethro Iruobe as Executive Director and the designation of Olutola Bella as the company’s new Company Secretary.
The appointments, approved by the Board of Directors, form part of the company’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its executive leadership and corporate governance framework.
According to a regulatory filing, Iruobe’s appointment takes effect from June 25, 2026. He currently serves as Chief Operating Officer, where he oversees several strategic functions, including human resources, corporate communications, fleet management and commercial excellence.
In his new position as Executive Director, Iruobe will support the Board and executive management in driving the company’s strategic direction while contributing to operational execution, business growth and long-term value creation.
Experienced Executive Joins the Board
Iruobe joined CAP Plc in 2019 as Head of Human Resources before advancing to the role of Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining the company, he built an extensive career spanning banking, management consulting, fast-moving consumer goods and manufacturing.
His professional experience includes leadership roles at KPMG, Promasidor Nigeria, Coca-Cola HBC and TGI Nigeria, where he played key roles in organisational development, talent management and business transformation initiatives.
He holds degrees in Mathematics and Economics from the University of Benin and a Master of Business Administration from Alliance Manchester Business School in the United Kingdom. He is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and holds the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification.
Company Secretary Transition
CAP Plc also announced that Aramide Nwokediuko will step down as Company Secretary effective July 13, 2026, following her appointment to a new executive position within the UAC Group.
Succeeding her is Olutola Bella, who currently serves as General Counsel. In addition to retaining his legal responsibilities, Bella will assume oversight of the company’s corporate governance and board secretariat functions.
The company said his responsibilities will include advising the Board and management on governance matters, ensuring regulatory compliance and supporting the implementation of legal and corporate governance standards.
Bella brings more than 18 years of legal and corporate advisory experience across financial services, fintech and corporate law.
Before joining CAP Plc, he served as Principal Adviser at DealWorks Advisory and previously held senior legal leadership roles at Moove and Stanbic IBTC Holdings Plc. Earlier in his career, he practised commercial law at Banwo & Ighodalo and Aluko & Oyebode.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Obafemi Awolowo University and a Master of Laws from the University of Cambridge.
He was called to the Nigerian Bar in 2007 and has completed several executive leadership and governance programmes throughout his career.
Board Expresses Confidence
The Board congratulated both executives on their appointments and expressed confidence that their experience and leadership will support CAP Plc’s strategic objectives and long-term growth.
The management changes come as the company continues to strengthen its leadership structure while positioning the business to capitalise on opportunities within Nigeria’s paints and coatings industry and deliver sustainable value to shareholders.
