Pesa Unveils Multicurrency Infrastructure and “Gold Standard” Growth Campaign with Adekunle Gold

The African fintech scales past simple remittance, introducing localized UK sort codes, IBANs, and B2B features alongside an iconic brand partnership
African fintech innovator Pesa has officially launched its new scale-up campaign, “The Gold Standard,” positioning the app as a comprehensive borderless money ecosystem. To anchor this new chapter, Pesa has appointed global music icon Adekunle Gold as its Brand Ambassador, highlighting the tech platform’s alignment with globally connected African creators, tech workers, and diaspora professionals.
While built on a foundation of zero-fee international remittances, Pesa’s evolution focuses on high-utility multi-currency engineering. The platform now enables international users and the African diaspora across the UK, Canada, and Europe to operate like locals through dedicated, personal multi-currency accounts featuring UK sort codes, dedicated Euro IBANs, and Interac integration for Canadian dollars.
“The Gold Standard is our product roadmap in action,” stated Tolu Osho, Co-founder and CEO of Pesa. “We are moving beyond transactional remittance into deep financial infrastructure. Our users don’t just send money home; they live, earn, and scale businesses across borders. Partnering with Adekunle Gold reflects this global mentality; his journey as a Nigerian-born artist with international reach mirrors the borderless ambition of our platform users.”
The platform’s growth architecture relies on three primary core pillars:
- Send with Pesa: Streamlined remittance channels with zero fees and direct routing to eliminate intermediary delays.
- Move with Pesa: Full multi-currency accounting, allowing users to hold, swap, and receive GBP, EUR, CAD, and NGN seamlessly within a single interface.
- Pay with Pesa: An impending borderless card ecosystem designed for global checkout. Pesa has opened its official waitlist for users to secure early access ahead of the live card rollout. Join the waitlist via the Pesa app.
The campaign comes directly on the heels of major cross-border milestones for the fintech, including its recent market entry into Kenya and the successful deployment of Pesa Business; a dedicated SaaS layer enabling cross-border corporate payroll, supplier settlements, and multi-currency treasury management.
Speaking on the infrastructure alignment, Adekunle Gold remarked: “When your life, business, and collaborations span multiple continents, legacy banking fails you. You need a platform built on real-time speed and absolute security. What drew me to Pesa was their engineering focus on solving the everyday financial friction that diaspora Africans face. They’ve built the infrastructure that lets us move money like stars.”
