The 2027 governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Hon. Kingsley Chinda, topped the list of 13 members of the House of Representatives who dumped their parties, defecting to others on Tuesday.

Hon. Chinda, the Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC.

Following his decision, he resigned his position as Minority Leader of the House, paving the way for the emergence of a new opposition leadership.

Among the defections announced on the floor of the House were six lawmakers from Oyo State, who moved from the PDP to the Allied Peoples Movement (APM).
