Zenith Bank Plc has expanded its branch network with the opening of a new banking office in Osubi, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, the first time a commercial bank has established operations within the community.
The expansion forms part of the bank’s broader strategy to improve access to financial services, support local businesses and promote inclusive economic growth by bringing modern banking solutions closer to underserved communities.
The new branch was officially commissioned on Wednesday in the presence of Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, senior government officials, traditional leaders, members of the business community and customers.
Speaking during the event, Governor Oborevwori described the development as a positive signal for investment in Delta State, noting that the arrival of one of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions reflects growing confidence in the state’s economic environment.

He also highlighted the significance of the new branch for residents of Okpe Local Government Area, stating that the facility provides access to banking services in a locality that previously had no commercial bank presence.
The Governor noted that improved access to financial services would help stimulate commercial activity, encourage entrepreneurship and support the economic development of the host community.
Zenith Bank Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dame Dr. Adaora Umeoji, said the new branch reflects the bank’s commitment to expanding financial inclusion while supporting economic opportunities across Nigeria.
She expressed appreciation to the Delta State Government for creating an enabling environment for private sector investment and acknowledged the Governor’s support for the project, including the provision of land for the branch.
According to her, the Osubi office represents Zenith Bank’s 19th branch in Delta State and reinforces the institution’s long-standing relationship with the state and its residents.

She added that the branch will provide individuals, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized enterprises, and corporate customers with access to a broad range of banking products, digital financial services and financing solutions designed to support business growth.
The expansion aligns with Zenith Bank’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its nationwide branch network while complementing its digital banking platforms to ensure customers can access financial services through multiple channels.
