- Iran has issued a warning to the US that it will “crush the region’s infrastructure” if it carries out any strikes on Iran’s civilian sites, after the US military launched attacks for the fifth night in a row, reportedly on Qeshm Island, Bandar Abbas, and Chabahar.
- There have been a series of reported US projectiles hitting the vicinity of Qeshm Island, following Iran’s warning.
- Kuwait and Bahrain also faced renewed aerial attacks from Iran on Thursday, their militaries said. The Kuwaiti army said it was responding to a fresh salvo of drones, blaming “Iranian aggression”, while explosions were heard near the Gulf state’s capital Kuwait City.
- Also in the region, the Iran-backed Houthi rebels said they will target Saudi Arabia’s oil facilities and other infrastructure if conflict escalates between the two sides, days after the airport in the rebel-held capital Sanaa was struck.
- “All Saudi oil facilities and vital installations are targets for our missiles and drones if it gets itself involved in a full-scale aggression against our country and moves towards escalation,” the group’s leader Abdul Malik al-Houthi said in a televised address, also threatening Riyadh’s airport in response to further attacks on Sanaa airport.
