Tinubu receives former Sokoto governorship candidate on return to APC

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday night received a former Sokoto State governorship candidate, Mallam Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja after his return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Ubandoma was presented to the President by the Leader of the APC in Sokoto State, Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.

President Tinubu expressed delight over Ubandoma’s return to the party and assured him of his support and full integration into the APC.

The meeting was described as cordial and productive, with discussions centred on strengthening the party and consolidating its progress.

President Tinubu also encouraged Ubandoma to sustain his close working relationship with Wamakko and the Governor of Sokoto State, Dr. Ahmed Aliyu Sokoto.

It will be recalled that Mallam Sa’idu Umar, a former Commissioner for Finance, former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, and 2023 Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Sokoto State, officially defected from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the APC earlier this week.
