Aisha Buhari Meets Atiku as 2027 Political Activities Intensify

Former First Lady Aisha Buhari has visited former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), in Abuja.

Atiku disclosed the meeting on Wednesday through his social media platforms, describing Aisha’s visit as warm and deeply appreciated.

The former vice-president, however, did not disclose the purpose of the meeting or the details of their discussion.

The visit comes as political activities continue to gather momentum ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Atiku said the meeting reminded him of the responsibility facing those seeking to lead Nigeria, particularly the need to improve the welfare and dignity of citizens.

“Today, I was delighted to receive former First Lady, Aisha Buhari. Her visit was warm and deeply appreciated,” Atiku said.

He also used the occasion to highlight the economic challenges confronting Nigerian households, pointing to the rising costs of food, transportation, education, healthcare and other essential goods and services.

According to him, Nigerians need an economy that rewards hard work, expands opportunities and enables families to live with dignity.

“Nigerians deserve an economy that rewards hard work, restores opportunity and allows every family to live with dignity and hope,” he said.

Atiku added that his objective was to reduce the financial pressure on households, restore hope and “Make Nigeria Affordable Again.”

Aisha Buhari was accompanied by one of her daughters and some associates during the visit.
