The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the final list of presidential candidates and their running mates for the 2027 general elections.
The list, signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Rose Oriaran-Anthony, was released in Abuja on Saturday and contains candidates fielded by 18 political parties.
According to the list, 16 of the presidential candidates are men, while two are women. Among the major contenders are incumbent President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), and Social Democratic Party (SDP) candidate Adewole Adebayo.
Other candidates include Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), Donald Duke of the People’s Redemption Party (PRP), Sunday Chibuzo Okereke of the Labour Party (LP), and Omoyele Sowore of the African Action Congress (AAC).
The list also includes Sandy Ojang Onor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Rufai Adekunle Omo-Aje of the Action Alliance (AA), Aliyu Abbas-Bin of the Action Democratic Party (ADP), Kabiru Yusuf of the Allied Peoples Party (APP), and Sunday Adenuga of the Boot Party (BP).
Other presidential candidates are Moses Olusoji Adebisi of the Democratic Leadership Alliance (DLA), Nkem Esther Okereke of the National Rescue Movement (NRM), Daniel Daberechukwu Nwanyanwu of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP), Peter Ada Agada of the Young Progressive Party (YPP), and Ada Elizabeth Fredrick Okwori of the National Democratic Party (NDP).
INEC also listed 14 male and four female vice-presidential candidates. The female running mates include Peace Egobia Ofordile of the APP, Nafisat Usaku Abubakar of the DLA, Hajja Bintu Konto of the LP, and Patience Ndidi Key of the YPP.

The release of the final list marks another major step toward the 2027 presidential election, with the participating parties now formally represented by their presidential and vice-presidential candidates.
