Adeleke Camp Reacts As APC Names Osun Gov. Into Campaign List

The Imole Campaign Council has pledged to deliver 1.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential election following the appointment of Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State as the president’s campaign coordinator in the state.
This was just as the council said the Accord Party structure in Osun would support Tinubu’s re-election bid, despite the governor’s membership of the opposition party.
The council’s Director General, Senator Olalere Oyewumi, made the pledge in a statement on Tuesday while welcoming Adeleke’s inclusion in the revised All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council list.
Adeleke was named the Osun State Coordinator of the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (PBAT) Presidential Campaign Council.
Other prominent figures named in the revised list include Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike; Governor Sheriff Oborevwori of Delta State; and Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State.
Oyewumi described Adeleke’s appointment as well-deserved and assured Tinubu that the governor would deliver the state for him in the presidential election.
“The Imole Campaign Council welcomes the appointment of Governor Adeleke as State Coordinator of the PBAT Presidential Campaign Council in Osun.
“The appointment is a well-deserved one. We assure the President that his confidence in the ability of Governor Adeleke to deliver Osun in the Presidential election will not be misplaced.
“We promise the President, just like Governor Adeleke said sometimes ago, that we will deliver 1.5 million votes to ensure his victory in the coming Presidential election,” he said.
The council also urged residents to support Adeleke, linking the governor’s performance in office to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
It said, “A vote for President Tinubu is a support for Governor Adeleke.”
The endorsement comes amid tensions within the Osun APC over the organisation of the president’s re-election campaign in the state.
On Monday, the state chapter of the APC warned against parallel campaign activities, insisting that all efforts to secure Tinubu’s re-election must operate under the party’s leadership.
Speaking at a stakeholders’ meeting at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, the state capital, APC Chairman Tajudeen Lawal said the party had put in place an effective campaign committee to coordinate its activities.
Lawal said the party’s stakeholders had agreed to work collectively through a presidential campaign committee scheduled for inauguration on Tuesday.
He also said the state working committee would collaborate with Agba Osun, the party’s highest ruling body in the state, to achieve Tinubu’s re-election.
The APC chairman warned individuals and groups against adopting separate campaign structures, urging anyone interested in supporting the president to work through the party’s leadership.
The appointment of Adeleke has unsettled some APC stakeholders who had expected Gboyega Oyetola, the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy and the party’s leader in Osun, to be named the state campaign coordinator.
Lawal also urged APC members and supporters to put behind them the party’s loss in the August 15, 2026 governorship election and focus on Tinubu’s re-election.
Adeleke, who contested the governorship election on the platform of the Accord Party, was declared the winner by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
He polled 511,067 votes to defeat the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who secured 444,815 votes.
