Oyo Police Arrest Suspected Phone, Motorcycle Snatchers

The Oyo State Police Command has arrested two men suspected of snatching mobile phones and motorcycles in Oyo, Osun and Lagos states.

Police arrested the suspects, identified as Timilehin Idowu, 23, and Kudus Agoeo, 25, during an intelligence-led raid on a residence in the Onirerin-Mokola area of Ibadan.

The police said preliminary investigations indicated that the suspects allegedly operated in a three-man gang, using a motorcycle to snatch phones and motorcycles from members of the public.

According to the command, the suspects told investigators that they operated in Ibadan and Ile-Ife, Osun State. They also reportedly provided information about other alleged gang members and individuals suspected of helping to dispose of stolen property.

The police said efforts were ongoing to arrest other suspects and recover stolen items. The two men remain in custody as investigations continue.

The Commissioner of Police, Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, urged residents to provide credible information to help security operatives prevent and detect crime.
