APC Women Promise Issue-Based Campaign Ahead Of 2027 Election

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has said its campaign for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027 will focus on the achievements of his administration, ongoing projects, economic reforms and policies aimed at improving the lives of Nigerians.
The Director of Women Mobilisation of the APC Presidential Campaign Council (PCC), Dr Betta Edu, expressed confidence that the administration’s record would play a major role in securing another term for Tinubu.
Edu made this known on Monday in Abuja, noting that APC women were intensifying grassroots mobilisation across communities, households and voting constituencies to build support for the president ahead of the 2027 general election.
She explained that the party intended to present its policies, programmes and achievements to Nigerians rather than rely on empty promises or campaigns driven by personalities.
According to her, the APC would highlight infrastructure development, economic reforms, educational opportunities and other government initiatives designed to improve the standard of living of citizens.
Edu said the party believed it had achievements to present to voters and would communicate them in clear and practical terms to help Nigerians assess the administration’s performance.
She also expressed appreciation to President Tinubu for his leadership and commitment to the Renewed Hope Agenda.
The APC women mobilisation director commended the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, for her efforts to promote women’s participation, support families and advance national development.
She also acknowledged the contributions of Vice-President Kashim Shettima and his wife, Nana Shettima; the Senate President and his wife; the Speaker of the House of Representatives and his wife; and the Director-General of the Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari.
Others she praised included the PCC secretary, the Chairman of the Progressive Governors Forum and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, APC governors and other party leaders for their contributions to the party’s mobilisation efforts.
Edu further appreciated women’s groups, associations, support organisations, governors’ wives, women leaders and grassroots organisers for their commitment to the party.
She noted that their activities across states, local government areas and communities had strengthened the APC’s engagement with women and expanded its mobilisation network.
According to Edu, women remain a significant force in Nigeria’s electoral process because of their numerical strength and influence in families, markets, community associations, professional organisations and local political structures.
She stressed that the party’s mobilisation strategy would go beyond political rallies and public declarations to include continuous engagement with voters, political education, direct communication and election-day sensitisation.
She explained that the objective was to ensure Nigerians understood the administration’s policies, evaluated their effects on their lives and made informed decisions about the country’s future.
NELFUND And Economic Reforms To Feature In Campaign
Edu identified the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) as one of the major initiatives the APC would highlight during its 2027 campaign.
She said the student loan programme was helping to address financial challenges that could prevent eligible students from gaining admission to or completing their tertiary education.
According to her, the initiative also provides additional support to families struggling to meet the cost of higher education.
Edu maintained that NELFUND reflected the administration’s recognition of the importance of education in developing human capital, improving economic productivity and promoting long-term national prosperity.
She added that the programme, alongside infrastructure projects, economic reforms and other government interventions, would form part of the administration’s record that the party intends to present to voters.
The APC chieftain said the party would explain its policies and achievements in simple, practical terms to enable citizens to understand the reforms and opportunities available to them.
She acknowledged that the country was facing challenges associated with the ongoing reforms but expressed optimism that Nigeria was moving towards a period of greater prosperity.
Edu said the 2027 election would provide Nigerians with an opportunity to assess the administration’s performance, adding that the APC was confident its record would strengthen its chances of retaining power.
She explained that the immediate priority of the Women Mobilisation Directorate was to strengthen existing party structures, improve coordination among women’s groups and ensure the campaign message reached voters in both rural and urban communities.
According to her, effective political mobilisation requires more than gathering large crowds at campaign events, stressing that sustained engagement, credible information and meaningful interaction with citizens were essential to building lasting support.
She particularly praised the First Lady for her contributions to the party’s women mobilisation efforts and her advocacy for women’s inclusion, family development and improved opportunities for vulnerable groups.
Edu added that women’s participation in governance should be accompanied by efforts to improve their economic opportunities and overall quality of life.
She said the directorate would continue working with the APC national leadership, state chapters, women leaders and affiliated organisations to promote the administration’s policies and encourage greater participation in the democratic process.
Edu expressed confidence that stronger cooperation between the party’s leadership and its women’s structures would improve nationwide mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.
She urged APC women to remain united, organised and committed to the party’s objectives, noting that their efforts would be important in communicating the administration’s achievements and consolidating support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
