Codix Gives Isanbi School New Lease Of Life With Classrooms, Computers, Toilets

Isanbi Comprehensive Secondary School, Ilishan-Remo, Ogun State, has received a major facelift following the commissioning of new and upgraded educational facilities provided by Codix Group through its charity arm, Codix Charity Foundation.
The intervention, commissioned on Thursday, included two new classroom blocks, 10 desktop computers, new tables and chairs, eight toilet facilities for students and teachers and the refurbishment of the Principal’s office of the Junior School.
The project, according to the foundation, was designed to improve the learning environment and provide students and teachers with facilities capable of supporting effective teaching and learning.
The development attracted education authorities, traditional rulers, community leaders, old students and other stakeholders who commended the initiative as an example of meaningful private-sector intervention in public education.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Ogun State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof. Abayomi Arigbabu, described the project as a demonstration of the impact that could be achieved when government and the private sector work together to improve education.
Arigbabu said education remained the foundation for sustainable development, stressing that government alone could not shoulder the responsibility of transforming the education sector.
“Education remains the bedrock of sustainable development, and true progress in our schools relies heavily on active synergy between the government and visionary private sector partners,” the commissioner said.
The commissioner also linked the intervention to the responsibility of old students to contribute to the development of their former schools.
He commended the Executive Chairman and Group Chief Executive of Codix Holdings Limited, Mr Sammy Ogunjimi, and his team for using their connection with their alma mater to support its development.
“This landmark gesture beautifully exemplifies how deeply old students cherish their alma mater and remain an integral, devoted part of its growth and success for generations,” Arigbabu said.
He described the initiative as a benchmark in corporate social responsibility.
Ogunjimi, who spoke at the event, said the intervention was driven largely by his personal experience as a former student of Isanbi Comprehensive Secondary School and his belief that education remained one of the most important investments in the future.
He recalled his years at the school, saying the memories and experiences he gained there played a significant role in his decision to give back to the institution.
According to him, providing students with a conducive environment was crucial to unlocking their potential and preparing them for future opportunities.
Ogunjimi said the intervention formed part of the broader commitment of the Codix Charity Foundation to initiatives aimed at human capital development and improving the welfare of young people.
“Better learning environments can inspire students, strengthen their confidence and create opportunities for them to participate more effectively in the future economy,” he said.
The representative of the Olofin of Ilishan-Remo and Baale of Ago-Ilara, Baale (Dr) Muftau Oyegunle, described the transformation of the school as evidence of the impact of responsible corporate citizenship on community development.
Oyegunle expressed the community’s appreciation to Ogunjimi, the Board of Trustees and the management of Codix Group and Codix Charity Foundation.
“The transformation we witness today at Isanbi Comprehensive High School is a demonstration of what is possible when visionary corporate citizenship meets community development,” he said.
He added that the intervention would leave a lasting impact on students, teachers and the wider community.
