FAAN Deploys Two Ambulifts At Lagos Airport To Assist Passengers With Disabilities

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has deployed two new ambulifts at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos to improve accessibility for passengers with disabilities and those with reduced mobility.
The equipment is designed to make boarding and disembarking aircraft safer, easier and more comfortable for passengers who require special assistance.
FAAN officially handed over the two ambulifts to NACHO Aviation Services as part of efforts to improve passenger services and ensure that air travel is more inclusive.
The Director of Airport Operations at FAAN, Captain Abdullahi Mahmood, said the initiative reflects the authority’s commitment to improving passenger facilitation and bringing Nigerian airports in line with international aviation standards.
The new ambulifts are expected to reduce the difficulties passengers with limited mobility face when boarding and leaving aircraft. Their deployment is also expected to minimise delays during boarding and improve operational efficiency at Nigeria’s busiest airport.
Passengers with disabilities and others who require mobility assistance are among those expected to benefit from the new equipment.
The development forms part of FAAN’s broader efforts to modernise airport infrastructure, improve service delivery and provide accessible facilities for travellers across the country.
With the introduction of the ambulifts, FAAN aims to strengthen its commitment to passenger safety, comfort and dignity while improving the overall travel experience at Nigerian airports.
