Re-elect Tinubu For Better Economy, Remi Tells Nigerians

First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, has expressed confidence that President Bola Tinubu will transform his economic reforms into prosperity for Nigerians if re elected for a second term in 2027.
She made the statement in Lafia, Nasarawa State, during the grand rally of the North-Central Grassroots Mobilisation Network, organised to mobilise support for the re-election of President Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
According to a statement signed by her Senior Special Assistant on Media, Busola Kukoyi, the rally attracted All Progressives Congress members from across the North-Central region.
Those present included APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma and governors from the region.
Speaking at the event, Tinubu said the President’s Independence Day address, titled “From Reforms to Prosperity,”reflected a shift from implementing difficult economic policies to delivering improved living conditions.
“The Independence Day message of Mr President was titled ‘From Reforms to Prosperity.’ Therefore, Mr President is saying that they are going to reform the sector, but now is the time for prosperity, and we can see our economy is stabilising,” she said.
She pointed to developments in the foreign exchange market and renewed investor interest as signs of progress, stating that “Foreign exchange is going down, and investors are coming back to Nigeria.”
The First Lady also commended state governments for their infrastructure projects, noting that farmers could benefit from ongoing development initiatives.
On food security, she highlighted a food bank programme designed to support vulnerable groups, particularly children and pregnant and breastfeeding women.
“As you see now, we have just finished the food bank programme, where we are helping every child and mothers who are pregnant and also breastfeeding,” she said.
She explained that the initiative was intended to improve access to nutritious meals and provide food and treatment for malnourished children to support their healthy development.
Mrs Tinubu further maintained that young Nigerians in schools were receiving adequate funding, although she did not provide specific details of the funding arrangements.
Urging APC members to promote the administration’s achievements in their respective states, she described President Tinubu as a leader willing to make difficult decisions.
“He will not stop by being at home to take difficult decisions. He is a leader who can be trusted to lead us into prosperity,” she said.
She appealed to voters to support the President and other APC candidates in the 2027 elections, expressing optimism that another term would bring improvements to the country.
She said the administration would work to “build a stronger economy, safer communities and a greater Nigeria.”
“Therefore, vote for continuity, vote for capacity, vote for prosperity, vote for the re-election of Mr President and all the candidates of the APC from top to bottom,” she added.
Other speakers at the rally also called on Nigerians to support President Tinubu and APC candidates in the 2027 general elections, according to the statement.
The presidential election is scheduled for January 16, 2027.
In August, President Tinubu appointed Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, with Governor Hope Uzodimma serving as its secretary.
Yari said on Friday that the council would be inaugurated on October 14, while the party’s presidential campaign was scheduled to commence in Kaduna on October 24.
