RevolutionNow Offers N1m Reward To Unmask Sowore’s Attackers

The #RevolutionNow Movement has announced a N1 million reward for anyone who provides credible information that could lead to the identification and prosecution of those behind the alleged assassination attempt on its leader, Omoyele Sowore, and members of his team in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.
The movement said the reward was intended to encourage individuals with useful information, including video footage of the attack, to come forward and assist efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice.
The announcement was made in a statement posted on Sowore’s social media handle, in which the movement urged anyone with fresh and credible information about the incident to contact it through direct messages.
It specifically appealed to individuals with video recordings or other evidence capable of helping investigators identify those involved in the attack to share such materials.
The alleged assassination attempt occurred at Tawakalitu Restaurant in Ado-Ekiti on Friday, October 30, 2026, when armed men reportedly attacked Sowore and members of his team.
The reward announcement comes amid growing controversy over the police investigation and the arraignment of 11 persons allegedly connected to the incident.
Sowore had described the arraignment as a “ruse and cover-up” allegedly designed to shield those who planned, sponsored and executed the attack.
He also demanded the immediate removal or suspension of the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Falade Adegoroye Michael, accusing his command of mishandling the investigation and allegedly suppressing critical evidence.
The activist alleged that none of the principal perpetrators identified by his team had been arrested or brought before a court, insisting that the prosecution of the 11 persons did not address questions surrounding the alleged masterminds.
Sowore further disclosed that his team’s investigations had identified 12 individuals and government officials whose alleged connections to the incident required independent criminal investigation.
Those named include Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji; his Chief Security Officer, CSP Ayodele Akinlua; Commissioner of Police Falade; and the Ekiti State Director of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Others include Adenijo Sola, popularly known as Solar; Omotuyi Temitope, alias Tope Jinadu Small; former National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) President and presidential aide, Asefon Sunday Dayo; and Governor Oyebanji’s Chief Press Secretary, Olayinka Oyebode.
He also named Makinde Araoye and other organisers of the Ikogosi Marathon, Ayodeji Akintade Ifeoluwa, popularly known as AK, Managing Director of the Federal Housing Authority, Oyetunde Oladimeji Ojo, and Lere Olayinka Aresa, an aide to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
Sowore said the individuals were identified based on information gathered by his team and should be questioned to establish their possible connections to the attack.
He also questioned the police over the alleged removal of CCTV equipment from the restaurant, claims that recordings had been wiped, and the whereabouts of phones and other electronic devices reportedly stolen during the incident.
The activist called on the Inspector-General of Police to constitute an independent investigative team, recover the stolen devices, preserve electronic evidence and conduct forensic examinations of available CCTV recordings.
He further demanded that the police disclose the charges filed against the 11 arraigned persons and the evidence linking them to the attack.
Sowore maintained that everyone against whom credible evidence of criminal involvement was established must be prosecuted, irrespective of political office or security position.
The Ekiti State Police Command and the other individuals named in his allegations had not publicly responded to the latest demands.
The RevolutionNow Movement said the N1 million reward would be given to anyone whose credible information could help identify those responsible and secure justice for the victims.
