Two Nigerian men based in Europe have been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) after allegedly swallowing a combined 200 wraps of cocaine weighing 3.46 kilogrammes in an attempt to smuggle the illicit substance to Paris, France.

The suspects, identified as Aliocus Godian Odife and Sam Blackborn, were intercepted on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, during the outward clearance of an Air France flight, AF 832, from the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to Paris.

The arrest followed a body scan conducted on the two passengers, which reportedly revealed foreign objects in their stomachs, prompting further investigations by NDLEA operatives.

According to the agency, Odife, who claimed to live in France and work in a factory, had arrived in Nigeria on October 21 for a short holiday but was arrested while attempting to return to Europe.

During interrogation, the suspect reportedly admitted ingesting 110 pellets of cocaine.

He was subsequently placed under observation by NDLEA operatives, during which he excreted all 110 wraps of the illicit substance.

The recovered cocaine, which tested positive for the drug, weighed 1.901 kilogrammes.

His co-traveller, Blackborn, was also arrested at the airport after his body scan returned a positive result for drug ingestion.

The suspect reportedly confessed to swallowing 90 pellets of cocaine, all of which were recovered after he was placed under observation.

The agency said the 90 wraps weighed 1.559 kilogrammes and tested positive for cocaine.

The development was disclosed in a statement issued in Abuja on Sunday by the NDLEA Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi.

The agency said the arrests formed part of a series of nationwide operations that also resulted in the seizure of large quantities of cannabis, pharmaceutical opioids and other illicit substances, as well as the arrest of several suspects across different states.

In Lagos State, NDLEA operatives intercepted two commercial vehicles allegedly conveying a combined 976 kilogrammes of skunk, a potent strain of cannabis.

The first operation was carried out on Sunday, October 25, following intelligence about the movement of the substance from Lagos Island to the Mainland.

Operatives intercepted a white Volkswagen LT 28 bus along Kudirat Abiola Way, Ikeja, recovering 537 kilogrammes of skunk.

On the same day, another team intercepted a brown J5 bus along the Gbagada-Oshodi Expressway, where an additional 439 kilogrammes of the substance were seized.

In Oyo State, two suspected drug traffickers, Oguntona Nasiru, 46, and Soji Balogun, 47, were arrested on Thursday, October 29, while allegedly loading 554 kilogrammes of skunk into a Volvo truck at Idere Road, Igboora.

The operation reportedly targeted a suspected drug dealer identified by the alias, Omo Oba, who allegedly escaped arrest during an earlier operation on October 25.

During that earlier operation, NDLEA operatives seized 309.5 kilogrammes of a potent cannabis strain popularly known as Ghanaian Loud, allegedly linked to the suspected dealer
