The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has launched a coordinated airstrike on suspected terrorist hideouts in Guduf, a community situated within the Mandara Mountains along Nigeria’s northeastern frontier.
The operation, carried out on April 27, 2026, forms part of ongoing counter-insurgency efforts under Operation Hadin Kai.
According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, the strike followed credible intelligence backed by detailed surveillance, which revealed the presence of multiple insurgent structures and logistics bases in the area.
He explained that NAF air assets were swiftly deployed to engage the identified targets, executing a precision strike that focused on critical terrorist infrastructure. The mission successfully destroyed key facilities believed to be supporting insurgent operations, thereby reducing their operational strength.
The Air Force stressed that the exercise was conducted in strict adherence to operational guidelines, with deliberate measures taken to avoid civilian casualties and limit environmental impact. Precision targeting was applied throughout the mission to ensure only hostile elements were neutralised.
The Mandara Mountains, stretching across parts of Adamawa and Borno states into Cameroon, have long served as a hideout for insurgent groups.
NAF stated that the latest offensive highlights its determination to restrict terrorist movements and reinforce security operations in the region. The military also reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining pressure on insurgents while safeguarding the nation’s territorial integrity.
