2027: Governor directs cabinet reshuffle as commissioners resign

The Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Friday directed a minor reshuffle of his cabinet as commissioners resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The State Commissioner for Works (Rural Roads) and Public Information, Charles Aniagwu, made this known in a statement.

Accordingly, the State Commissioner for Women Affairs, Community, and Social Development, Princess Pat Ajudua, is to oversee the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services and Girl Child Development.

Aniagwu said: “The Commissioner for Housing, Mr Godknows Angele, is to supervise the Ministry of Youth Development with immediate effect.”

He said the development became necessary following the resignation of the Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Community Support Services, and Girl Child Development, Orode Uduaghan, and Commissioner for Youth Development, ThankGod Trakiriowei.

He said: “They resigned to pursue their political ambitions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

“The former commissioners stepped down to contest for seats in the Delta State House of Assembly.”

Aniagwu said Governor Oborevwori appreciated the former commissioners for their patriotic services to the state and wished them success in their future endeavours.

He added that the new supervisory arrangements took immediate effect pending further announcements by the state government.
