SGF Warns Against Wrong Appellations For President Tinubu

The Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF) has raised concerns about frequent errors in the official appellation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu by various bodies and media organisations.

Papers News reports that the concern was raised in a personally signed statement by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume.

He particularly noted that an error was observed in the naming and appellation of the President in a publication by a national daily on Wednesday, May 7, 2026.

In a personally signed statement, Akume urged media houses and other concerned organizations to always verify official titles before publication so that such avoidable and embarrassing errors would not filter into the publications.

Akume stressed that the correct and official appellation of the President should always read: “His Excellency, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

The SGF noted that such lapses can be avoided with due verification through the appropriate sources being made.

Meanwhile, the National Publicity Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Felix Morka, has stated that President Bola Tinubu needs more time to deliver on his promise to Nigeria.

Morka stated this during an appearance on TVC News’ This Morning with Uncle Yori.

He asserted that Tinubu’s government is working on improving the micro and macro-economic situation in Nigeria.

Morka urged Nigerians to give Tinubu more time as he had already started the good working of changing Nigeria’s economy
