The son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, Abba Abubakar, has unveiled an ambitious nationwide mobilisation plan to secure the re-election of President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, including a proposed two-million-man march across the six geopolitical zones.
Abba, who recently defected to the All Progressives Congress, disclosed the plan on Friday at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja, where he presented the political mobilisation agenda of his organisation, Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO).
The organisation, which he founded and chairs, said it was preparing to establish a nationwide grassroots political network to mobilise support for Tinubu ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
According to Abba, the proposed two-million-man mobilisation march will commence in Abuja before extending to other parts of the country.
He said the immediate focus would be on supporting the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom he described as a key political figure in the organisation’s mobilisation strategy.
Abba said the group was aligning its political activities with Wike’s reported ambition to deliver the FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
“We are also working in alignment with the FCT minister’s political objective of delivering both the FCT and Rivers for President Tinubu in the forthcoming election,” he said.
He further disclosed that HBTO was planning a major political mobilisation exercise in Rivers State during the first week of November.
Beyond political rallies and grassroots campaigns, the organisation announced plans to introduce a transportation support initiative involving the initial deployment of 10 luxury buses.
Abba said the initiative was designed to ease commuting difficulties, reduce transportation costs and demonstrate that political support should translate into practical interventions capable of improving the lives of ordinary Nigerians.
“We intend to commence this programme in the FCT before progressively expanding the initiative to other parts of the federation.
“For us, supporting the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda must translate into meaningful actions that positively affect the everyday lives of Nigerians,” he said.
The former vice-president’s son said HBTO had begun activating its structures, adding that members and supporters were being mobilised to strengthen its presence across the country.
He explained that the organisation was not merely interested in organising rallies or displaying political numbers but intended to build a coordinated grassroots movement capable of converting political support into votes.
“This is not simply about numbers or political appearances; it is about building a disciplined, coordinated and effective grassroots mobilisation network capable of translating political support into electoral results,” he said.
Abba added that the organisation would establish structures across the six geopolitical zones, strengthen its state and zonal operations, engage community stakeholders and collaborate with other political groups sympathetic to Tinubu’s re-election bid.
Explaining his decision to support Tinubu despite his father’s political association with the opposition, Abba maintained that political allegiance was a matter of individual conviction and personal choice.
He said his decision to establish and lead HBTO was deliberate and should not be interpreted as an attempt to undermine the political choices of others.
