KolaDaisi University, Ibadan, Oyo State, has unveiled its 10th anniversary logo as the institution begins activities to commemorate a decade of academic development, innovation and service.
PLATFORM TIMES reports that the anniversary celebration will be held alongside the university’s 6th Convocation Ceremony, with former President Olusegun Obasanjo expected to deliver the convocation lecture.
The unveiling ceremony, which formally set the tone for the anniversary programme, was led by the Vice-Chancellor of the university, Prof. Olajumoke Morenikeji, alongside the Registrar, Mr Haruna Olawale Adetu, and the Bursar, Dr Michael Alatise.
The institution, established in 2016, said the anniversary logo represents its journey over the past decade and its commitment to quality education, innovation, leadership, character development and service to society.
Speaking during the unveiling, Morenikeji said the university was determined to build on the achievements recorded in its first 10 years while positioning the institution for greater accomplishments in the years ahead.
The 10th anniversary and 6th convocation are expected to attract members of the university community, parents, alumni, government officials, academics and other stakeholders.
A major attraction of the programme is the expected participation of Obasanjo, who is scheduled to deliver the 6th Convocation Lecture.
His participation is expected to provide an opportunity for members of the university community and other participants to engage with his perspectives on education, leadership, national development and Nigeria’s future.
The university said the anniversary would go beyond a celebration of its 10 years of existence, describing it as an opportunity to reflect on its institutional journey and achievements while preparing for the next phase of its development.
It also acknowledged the contributions of its founders, successive university administrations, academic and non-academic staff, students, alumni and other stakeholders to the growth of the institution.
The anniversary programme, according to the university, is expected to provide a platform to celebrate past milestones while setting new priorities for the next decade.
